You're sleeping out. Now let's raise as much as we can.

Friday 13 November 2026 ยท Victory Park, Chorley FC, Duke Street, Chorley PR7 3DU

Thank you for joining the Big Chorley Sleepout. Our goal is to reach 100 sleepers and raise ยฃ15,000 for our community, which works out at about ยฃ150 each. This page has everything you need: what happens on the night, simple fundraising tips, posts you can copy and paste, and graphics to share.

Every pound raised supports three local organisations working together:

Chorley FC Community Foundation: using football and community activity to build stronger, healthier, more connected communities

Let's Make a Difference: supporting people experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives

SVP Chorley Buddies: practical support, food and essential items for local families and individuals facing hardship

Not set up yet? Go to the Big Chorley Sleepout JustGiving campaign (https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/chorley-sleepout) and click the big orange Start fundraising button. It only takes a few minutes.

The night at a glance

1pm to 4pm: Chorley FC Business Club Sleepout Special. Free for participants, with lunch from The View Bar and Bistro. Speakers: Darren Jenkinson (Chorley FC Community Foundation), Magella and Rachel (SVP Chorley Buddies), Stuart Lee (Let's Make a Difference), our sponsor Aspect Mortgages, plus a few surprises.

4pm to 7pm: Your time. Stay at the club, or go home to rest and get ready.

7pm to 10pm: Mariners Lounge. Socialising, entertainment and a quiz hosted by Mark Holden from the Magpies Trust.

Around 10:30 to 11pm: Into the stands. Time to bed down.

Around 7am: Wake up. Breakfast is provided before we head home.

Saturday: Still have some energy? Come to the club game at Victory Park.

Bring: a warm sleeping bag, cardboard to sleep on, plastic sheeting to keep the wet off, warm waterproof clothes, a hat, gloves, extra layers, a water bottle and any medication you need.

We'll provide: toilets, hot drinks and indoor space if you need it, all night.

10 fundraising tips

1) Tell your story. On your fundraising page, say in a few lines why you're sleeping out. A personal reason gets more donations than a generic one.

2) Add a photo. A smiling photo of you, ideally in Chorley FC colours or holding your sleeping bag, makes your page feel real.

3) Set a target. Pages with a target raise more. Our suggested target is ยฃ150. That's just 10 people giving ยฃ15, or 5 people giving ยฃ30.

4) Get your first donation from someone close. Ask a partner, parent or best friend to donate first, and generously. Others tend to match the first amount they see.

5) Ask people directly. A personal message or a word in person works much better than one post to everyone.

6) Ask about match funding at work. Many employers will match what staff raise. Check with HR, and tell colleagues what you're doing. Businesses can also take part as a team with one shared page.

7) Post regular updates. Share our date graphics, your kit list and how close you are to your target. Every update reminds people to give.

8) Share on the night. Photos and short videos from the stands are your best fundraising moment, so post while it's happening.

9) Thank every donor. A quick thank-you, publicly or in a message, is good manners and encourages others to give.

10) Follow up afterwards. Many donations come in after the event. Post a "we did it" update with your total and the link for anyone who missed it.

LinkedIn โ€“ 1. Personal/professional

On Friday 13 November I'm taking part in the Big Chorley Sleepout at Victory Park, organised by Chorley FC Community Foundation.

It isn't about pretending to know what homelessness feels like. It's about standing together and raising funds for local organisations, Let's Make a Difference and SVP Chorley Buddies among them, that support people when they need it most and help stop people reaching crisis point.

If you'd like to support me, or if your organisation offers match funding, I'd be very grateful: [FUNDRAISING PAGE LINK]
